5 Days Kidepo Valley National Park Safari

Miles and miles away from the noise and dust of the city, Kidepo Valley National Park is a completely different world. Big skies, vast plains, inspiring views from every vantage point. And wildlife everywhere you look. Kidepo offers breathtaking open savannah which is surrounded by spectacular mountain landscape nowhere to be seen in Africa!

The park is home to elephant, zebra, giraffe, huge herds of buffalo, warthog, duiker, hartebeest, lion, leopard, cheetah and hundreds of bird species. A game drive around Narus valley offers visitors chance to see the highest concentration of Buffalo, and Elephants. Other animals that may be seen roaming around include: Jackal, Zebra, Roan Antelope, waterbuck, warthogs, Jackson’s Hartebeest, Eland, Oribi, Cheetah, Leopard, Klipspringer, and Lion etc. The park boosts of being the highest concentration of birds endemic to Uganda like: Ostrich, Kori bustard, vultures, pygmy falcon, hornbills, eagles etc.

One more interesting thing about Kidepo is the cultural experience that will bring into contact with Karamojong peoples at Karenga and Kapedo. Meet the local elders and have an opportunity to interact with them. They will show you the kraals, the grinding stones and many more interesting items. For adventurers, Kidepo is the point where you can visit the IK people who live on top of Mt .Morungole towards the Kenya border via Kawalakol village. A day hike to meet an interact with the IK is amazing and incredible! And this wonderful park is now home to Uganda’s newest safari lodge, Apoka.

Traditional Bandas are also available for budget travelers but they should bring in their own foods and drinks to be planned by your Tour operator during your stay at the park. The park is accessible by road or air. We know Kidepo, the language, geography and convenient time to pay a visit. To cut off costs, we prefer an organized group of between 02- 20 PAX. As a result, we have fixed our departures on Fridays and RETURN on Mondays for flying safari. Special organized groups/individuals will be given attention if they do want to visit the park any time. Also, inquire with our reservations desk for road package to Kidepo: Kampala- Gulu-Kitgum-Orom-Kidepo. Book with us now to avoid disappointment for a Safari of a lifetime to Kidepo and sample the beauty of the park.

Perennial running water in the Narus River makes Kidepo an oasis in the semi desert.
This afternoon you can either take a game drive around the lodge area or perhaps recover from a long drive with a refreshing dip in stunning swimming pool.
